U.S. Strikes on Iraq
by Hala El-Banna

Why?
Why Iraq?
Why Now?

Ain't it enough
that kids are dying of  hunger
Old people and women from starvation.

The U.S. says
they want Iraq to comply to resolutions
What about Israel?

The U.S. says
Time for talks has run out
What about Palestinians' patience?

The U.S. says
we did what we had to do and called soldiers "brave!"
I doubt the adjective applies to those who kill unarmed.

The U.S.
plays a neighbouring friend in the morning and at night turns a snake to
fight.
They call the operation "The desert Fox" and indeed it is right, for they
have acted as one with intentions unclear and tricky they have been for a
cause unjustified.

The U.S. says
The strikes will and must go on untill Sadam is disarmed from weapons of
fatal destruction that threaten his neighbours.
For God's sake, who's threatening who?
have people grown so blind.
Israel plays dumb and says she will not engage in the situation between Iraq
and the U.S. as though she's nothing to do with it!

The U.S. policy grants Israel a bulk of money saying Israel should be
assured and guaranteed security inorder to be able to accept any kind of
agreement.
Israel is definitely being pampered.
What about Palestinians' feelings of insecurity?

A DOUBLE STANDERED POLICY BY ALL MEANS

The one thing that The U.S. failed and fails to grasp is yes maybe  The
Arabs at a point will disagree, but finally there shall be a glorified unity
no matter what, for deep down inside each and every Arab there has been
sown a seed of dignity and a code of unity and faith to free their land.
this spirit will come up and rise under very tough conditions, under the
hardest, most crucial or rather fatal crises.
so, thanks to them the U.S. is acting as a catalyst.
