Photojournalism Awards

What distinguishes the image from the imagination is a news event. Photojournalism rests comfortably at the edge of both the imagination and reality, in a territory reserved for both lived experience and meditative representation. And while the cliché a "photo is worth a thousand words" may seem at times vacuous, here at the Ambassadors Online Magazine, the photo conveys a thousand messages.

In this new section of the Ambassadors Online Magazine, we have launched our inaugural list of top photojournalistic images taken in relation to a newsworthy events, or themselves embodying the journalistic practices of inquisitiveness, accuracy, innovation, creativity, honesty, compassion, context and close examination.

The Best Photos section, published biannually will feature the top 25 works of photojournalism from across all agencies and among independent and freelance photographers. These photos are selected for the Awards by a panel of specialized judges. For submission and selection rules, go to Competition Rules.
