We recently read with interest your article in "The Ambassadors-Online Magazine", Vol. 6, January 2003, that we stumbled upon while searching for something else. We make two points.

  1. You can see further national and ethnic databases that we at the Human Genome Variation Society have encouraged at our website: http://www.hgvs.org/dblist/deth.html

  2. Because of the global reach of mutation database being worked on by the Human Genome Variation Society members, we wonder if you are interested in collaboration of some kind?

The editorial "A Letter to Uncle SAM" in the last issue was very interesting, and I agree you have found the right way which the week, poor and underdeveloped people of the world could stand and challenge the materialistic wave which controls human behavior. Indeed multiculturalism is the only way that allows sanity, love and compassion to overcome brutality, suspicion and hatred. Although religions tried hard to open man's mind and soul to indiscrimination between humans based on sex color or religion, yet only one third of the world inhabitants are believers in God! Moslems describe God as ALRAHMAN ALRAHIM (Passionate, Compassionate). Alrahman means for the believers and alrahim for all his creation. Christians describe Him as eternal love "Allah Mahabba." I am sure that such values can be established in the future generation through eradication of illiteracy among women in the child bearing age through adoption of multiculturalism as the savior of human kind

On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to extend a cordial invitation for you to attend one of the upcoming IPSI BgD multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary conferences.

We have had seven Nobel Laureates speaking at the opening ceremonies. These conferences are in line with the newest recommendations of the US National Science Foundation and of the EU research sponsoring agencies, to stress multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary research (M+I+T++ research). The speakers and activities at the conferences truly support this type of scientific interaction.

I checked your website and I would like to link to it. My website is KwBrowse.com and it represents a network of keywords and concepts as they logically relate to each other, on various topics. Under each keyword I list relevant websites and resources. I am considering listing your website under keywords such as "ambassadors", "Upper Egypt" and "President Lincoln". Also, whenever visitors come from your site to KwBrowse.com, a chart containing the top 20 relevant keywords to your website will be added, personalizing the display.

Hi could you help me please, if you can help me get my article published or put in a gallery. I am from New Delhi, India and at the moment I have been taking pictures of a charity that takes girls from incomes of $10 and offers them educational skills and jobs at the same time. They earn a salary everyday and half of it goes to their bank account, which will help them start their own business in the future. My name is Amber. I am trying to find out some information about 3p deletion syndrome, since I know a baby who has this disorder. She has a hole in her heart, a possible umbilical hernia and her bladder is attached to her tethered cord. Beyond that, she appears to be normal. Is it possible to have 3p deletion syndrome and not be mentally retarded? Is there any way to test for mental retardation? If you know anything about this syndrome or know of someone who does, I would greatly appreciate a response.

Message from the Chief Editor

To the Kuwaiti Men and Women who made May 17, 2005 a Historical Day

The Kuwaiti women who worked so hard during the 1990-1991 Iraqi occupation of their country, succeeded to earn their respect in the Kuwaiti all-male parliament. On a monumental day in Kuwaiti history, the nation's parliament accepted to offer women full political rights. In a 1999 decree, Kuwait's emir Sheik Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah. granted women political rights but that move was struck down by parliament. Kuwaiti women had already managed to become professors, doctors, scientists, engineers, lawyers, teachers, sociologists, psychologist, journalists, nurses and businesswomen, have now finally become eligible to become part of the political system. Political science professor, Mary Anne Tetreault, who had written the book, Stories of Democracy: Politics and Society in Contemporary Kuwait, mentioned that she, "was amazed to see on TV the Kuwaiti Parliament passing a law giving women the right to vote and contest parliamentary local elections." Furthermore, the recent appointment of two distinguished female engineers as members of the municipal council (Eng. Fatima al-Sabah and Eng. Fawziya al-Bahar) is another great step towards gender equality. Only days before this publication, in an important step forward, Dr. Massouma Al-Mubarak-- professor of political science at Kuwait University--was the first ever woman Minister (Ministry of Planning) and cabinet member. Will the Prime Minister Sheik Sabah al-Ahmed al-Sabah appoint a senior female doctor as Minister of Health to fill the current vacancy resulting from the resignation of Dr. Al-Garalla?
