Many thanks for publishing my story and Free The Children in the MEGASTARS section of the 'Ambassadors Magazine' (July 2004). Moreover, thank you for helping us to spread our message. I hope our paths cross again in the future. In Peace.

I just came from London and I looked up the Ambassadors Magazine. Thank you for the coverage of the WHO-EMRO meeting in Cairo (March 2004)- it was great. We are working on creating a website for the Global Academy of Tropical Health (now available at : www.tropical-surgery.org), which will have a link to the ICS and Westminster publishing. Soon we will circulate the academy's newsletter to all the founders of the global academy as well as selected groups.

I've read about your beauty training program (Beauty without Borders) in Kabul, but when I checked here I was told the program has stopped. Is that correct?
If not, can you give me some info and a contact in Kabul?

We recently read with interest your article in "The Ambassadors-Online Magazine", Vol 6 January 2003, that we stumbled upon while searching for something else. We make two points.

1. You can see further national and ethnic databases that we at the Human Genome Variation Society have encouraged at our website: http://www.genomic.unimelb.edu.au/mdi/dblist/deth.html

2. Because of the global reach of the mutation database being worked on by our members, we wonder if you are interested in collaboration of some kind?

We are writing on behalf of the Economic & Business History Research Centre (EBHRC) at The American University in Cairo. We conduct research to collect primary sources (original documents and oral accounts) about businesses, and areas of the Egyptian economy which have not been studied.

We are both about to start to write a historiography about Cafe Riche, to be submitted under the title of a seminar during our Centre's conference in December, in an attempt to present a comprehensive history of the Cafe and to offer an analysis of the Cafe as a business entity. While conducting preliminary research of the literature about Cafe Riche, we came across your online article, and we would be very grateful if you would be so kind as to contribute to this endeavor.

Letter from the Chief Editor

To Dr. Laila Bastaki MD
Consultant Clinical Geneticist, Kuwait (lailabastaki16@hotmail.com)

Thanks for sending me the website of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health (www.moh.gov.kw) which shows excellent activities in all health fields including those in genetics. It shows that the effort done by Dr. Sadika Al-Awadi, the founder and director of the Kuwait Medical Genetics Centre (KMGC) and her colleagues during the last 25 years is truly exceptional and unique. It is nice to know that Kuwait will be organizing the First International Genetics Conference in 2006. Several medical scientists have voiced their interest in knowing more about the Kuwait community genetics model. The Ambassadors Magazine is preparing a historiography of the KMGC in the Profile section, hence it would be beneficial to provide us with more information. Best wishes to you all.
